Lately I have been exploring the Web, in hopes of finding some educational games for students to use on their spare time.
The first one is called "Meteor Multiplication". The game focuses on one digit and two digit multiplication. The reason I like this game is because instead of looking at the factors first, the product is placed at the focus, and students are forced to think "How did I get here?". This game is appropriate for grades 4 - 8, and can be played here: http://bit.ly/ZZA5Nj
The second game is called "Coconut Vowels". Coconuts with words fall from the sky, and students must place the proper vowels in the coconuts before they hit the ground. I like this game because students get to see various vowel combinations, and the increasing speed per level is an added challenge. The game is appropriate for grades 3 - 5.
